Meet South Africa’s Sipho Vokal taking us on his journey of unforgettable soul melodies

Tell us what drives you? What is your true passion in life?

My love for God and Art is what drives me, I am passionate about the message of love in all its nuances hence I write about love a lot

How did you find your passion and how old were you?

I think the passion found me …….while I was busy trying to fit in, as kids we do what our friends do so I joined the school choir cause my friends were in the choir . Little did I know it would spark a career, I didn’t realise it at first and I remember my voice was different to all the other kids, I even got teased for the RNB tone as I was in a choral singing choir

What about your passion appeals to you the most?

An audiences response to the melody or a line and how it can transport them to places right Infront of your eyes and you get to even for a second be a part of that intimate moment

What drove you to make money from your passions?

Necessity I guess, In the ideal world I am content making music and performing without compensation but the cost of living and even making the music necessitates compensation

When was the first time you were paid for your passion?

Yoh I actually do not remember

What kept you going when you thought about giving up?

The people around me who believe in me and my talent

What motivates you every day to be even more successful?

My little brother, I won’t go into detail but yea him

What do you have to say to all of the people who doubted you?

What advice do you give to aspiring creatives who look up to you?

Your dreams are valid, keep going
