Tell us what drives you? What is your true passion in life?
The sound of music..takes me, it just allows me to be myself. It allows me to live. My true Passion is to sing!
How did you find your passion and how old were you?
My passion was found through Monique Seka’s voice.. at the age of two. My father bought me Monique Seka’s cassette tape in Ivory coast ……. and at that age, they said I could sing almost all of her songs on that cassette.. She inspired me a lot. She’s my Role Model.
What about your passion appeals to you the most?
Love for the art of Music …..Music brings people together..it brings unity…. and that draws me out a lot…it makes you happy.
What drove you to make money from your passions?
Living in Poverty while I have Talent!!! Thinking about this really make me want to sell my art of Music. When I look around me and see how people like Celine Dion, even Monique Seka who really didn’t come from a rich background make lot of money and give their family and themselves a better life..
Even though this is a Passion but if I should work really hard I think I can put something good out there on the market for people to buy and get some profit and take care of myself and my family.
When was the first time you were paid for your passion?
In 2007,at the age of fourteen..when I join a live band named “Love, Peace, and Happiness”. We performed on the beach for a birthday party. I got $20 for singing the whole night!
What kept you going when you thought about giving up?
Love of music and knowing that this is what I wanted..all my life, all I ever wanted was to sing. So even when I couldn’t get sponsorship, engineers turned me down because there no money to pay for studio sections,.
I knew one day I’ll make it because I believe in what I have in me and I know it will take me places! I can’t stop singing because it allows me to live and be myself.
What motivates you every day to be even more successful?
My life and my two siblings ……my mother passed on and left with me my little sister and brother. When I think of how others lives have changed because of their career..I want to fight for the world to hear me and support me.. ….. so I can give them a better life through my talent! Not everyone was born with silver spoon in their mouth but some homes have Talent…… and that talent gives them all better lives…..
What do you have to say to all of the people who doubted you?
Well all I can say to those that doubted me is “Thank you!”… I mean it Without doubters, I don’t think my journey would have had a lot of wonderful sad and joyous heartwarming experiences that I can use today to inspire other people.
My story is a lesson to a lot of people in my country who knows how I suffer!
So yes, those that doubted me, made me prove to them and to myself that this is what I truly want and I won’t give up till I get there.
What advice do you give to aspiring creatives who look up to you?
Be strong,Never give up on what you really do…….. love cause love never fails, so don’t give up on what you love the most.
