Tell us what drives you? What is your true passion in life?

I enjoy meaningful work… creating and touching people’s lives in whatever little way I can.

How did you find your passion and how old were you?

Though I can’t remember the exact age, I started writing in Elementary. I had to switch schools that year and at my new school,I felt totally out of place. It was at this point that writing stepped in. Writing became my escape…My safe haven, somewhere where there was no hurdles and conflict, just utter peace and compassion.

What about your passion appeals to you the most?

What appeals to me the most is the way you can just touch someone’s life or teach somebody a valuable lesson or even change somebody’s life through your pieces. You never truly know what miracle every piece you write is performing in the life of one reader.

What drove you to make money from your passions?

I asked myself, “If I’m good at it, why not make it a career and make money from it?” and the answer I came up with was, “why not?”

When was the first time you were paid for your passion?

When I took part in the National Poetry Competition at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Liberia.

I didn’t necessarily make money, I was awarded a Samsung galaxy tab which I think still counts as getting paid.

What kept you going when you thought about giving up?

Myself………
There were times I felt like and thought, why not stop writing besides I’m not even good enough and there are so many young and better writers than I’d ever be.
But there was a point when I realized that everybody has his/her own art and that no matter what I thought or how I felt, I had mine and just because my style is/was totally different and unlike that of others, it didn’t mean others were/are any better than I am.
A big Impact on me in this regard has been Ms.Patrice Juah. As I love to believe, ‘she makes it her job to keep me inspired’. My little talks with her, keeps me inspired, believing in myself and going. May God bless her.
Patrice Juah
What motivates you every day to be even more successful?

Me ………….knowing that with every piece I write, there’s a major improvement.. Secondly, I’m motivated by other writers whose works continue to touch my life and make me know that I can always be better tomorrow than I am today.

What do you have to say to all of the people who doubted you?

I’ll simply tell them, “Stop doubting. Start Supporting”.

What advice do you give to aspiring creatives who look up to you?

Revel in your gift and explore. Never hold back!
